With recent news highlighting the large number of children at risk from gangs, it is crucial that adults are able to offer support and protection for the children in their care.
This October was National Bullying Prevention Month, where charities, schools and communities came together to raise awareness and help prevent bullying among children. We too have been busy this month producing resources for both children and adults that can help them understand and deal with bullying.
How were you taught about safety? From Debra the road-crossing Zebra to lectures on not taking sweets from strangers, we can all recall efforts to keep us out of harm’s way. It’s hard to forget this moment in the TV show Outnumbered when a child shows off his new-found knowledge of ‘Stranger Danger’. But what about the risks posed, not on the roads or at school, but in cyberspace? How can we keep children safe on the internet?
