We've teamed up with national charity Coram Voice to create an interactive anthology of writing by children in care.
The app, Creative Voices, was officially launched at Coram Voice’s Voices 17 awards ceremony on Monday 10 April, held at the Foundling Museum in London and hosted by Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi.
Creative Voices showcases entries from Coram Voice’s Voices 16 and Voices 17 competitions. The national contest seeks to dispel the stigma around children in care and care leavers, inviting them to display their creativity and make their voices heard. The theme for the Voices 16 competition was 'Who makes you happy?'. This year's competition was based on the theme 'New beginnings' and included a special prize category for migrant children.
"We're absolutely delighted to be able to share the creative work of children in care and care leavers. We hope that being published in the app will encourage these young people to keep writing and sharing their voices, and we are sure that readers will be inspired too."
