CreativeMe writing competition
After last year's huge success we are once again calling for submissions for the CreativeMe competition.
CreativeMe is an exciting writing competition celebrating the creativity of all children and young people in care. Entrants can submit poems and short stories on any theme or topic as long as they are suitable for a wide age range. Winning entries will be published in an interactive anthology available through our mobile app nimbl. Winners will receive a book token and certificate.
Last year CreativeMe had a great response, with 50 entries from Virtual Schools all over the country. The 14 runners up were published in the Creative Voices anthology, and the awards ceremony was hosted by Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi. See www.pearson.co.uk/creative-voices for more information about last year’s anthology and to see a preview. It is also free on the App Store and Google Play.
The deadline for entries is 23 February 2018.
We have also launched a new progress award, nimblsteps. You can nominate children in your Virtual School who have made significant personal progress through using nimbl and show them that you recognise their hard work!
The measure of progress will differ from one child to another: some may have completed all the available courses while other may have only attempted one quiz. Tell us why you believe their personal progress should be celebrated.
Send your nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org including the nominees’ year group and school, and the reason you think they deserve the award. You can send in as many nominations as you wish. There will be one primary winner and one secondary winner per Virtual School and these winners will go through to the regional finals. Download the poster here.
The deadline for entries is 29 June 2018.
