One of the services we're most proud of is Confidential Reports.
These reports provide sets of detailed data, helping headteachers understand more about the communities they are working in, and the extent to which their children's neighbourhoods are affected by nine separate measures of deprivation:
- Barriers to housing and services
- Education, skills and training
- Health and disability
- Income deprivation
- Living environment deprivation
- Index of multiple deprivation (IMD)
- Income deprivation affecting children index (IDACI)
The Virtual School is often a small team responsible for hundreds or even thousands of young people. Having detailed community information to hand can help inform decisions, helping the Virtual School improve outcomes for their young people. They can see at a glance the type and degree of problems faced in the communities where a child has come from, where their placements might be, where they will attend school and so on.
A visual guide can be so much more effective at conveying information than reams of statistics, and also allows for overlays - so comparisons of different types of deprivation are made easier.
Virtual School heads can also compare 2010 data with 2015 data for greater insight into the ways their communities have changed over the past five years.
